Introduction
This website displays the paintings of Geoffrey Meredith. Many are landscapes, or cityscapes, a 21st-century reinterpretationa of the Bay Area Figurative Movement,, especially the later works of Richard Diebenkorn. Other paintings are large, gestural, non-objective, "abstract expressionist" works e that first appeared after World War II in New York.
Geoff has had three major solo exhibitions recently, two of them at the Piedmont Center for the Arts, including a 32-work retrospective in 2018. The other was held at the University Club of San Francisco. He was also featured at the Pasadena Showcase House for Design, which has for 52 years has benefitted the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He is currently represented at three Northern California galleries: The Jennifer Perlmutter Galleries; the Slate Contemporary Gallery d; and the Valley Art Gallery.
He served for five years as a Commissioner of the Contra Costa County Arts and Culture Commission, and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Valley Art Gallery.
